The Company
We started in 2008 doing freelance development with a select few groups of businesses. Shortly after, we decided to form our own company as requests for our skills began to grow. We now currently seek medium to large projects creating websites and web apps. We also develop mobile websites & web apps. We are soon going to begin coding apps for the iPhone & iPad.
Our Skills
New RockIT specializes in hand coded HTML & CSS. The backend server language of choice is PHP, but we also know many more scripting & programming languages. When it comes to sweet effects and functionality, we use jQuery to get the job done! Along with our custom coding skills, we are also well versed in many frameworks for developing sites. We work with WordPress & many other CMS’s to give customers a much more managed system for their site. What We Work With
At New RockIT, we use only the sweetest tools! Our sites are coded with Adobe’s Creative Suite using Dreamweaver and the awesome graphics are worked up in Photoshop. Everything is coded on a Mac and our sites are hosted on Mac Minis. We use SQLEditor for database design and visualization and Navicat for management once they are implemented. For mockups and collaboration, we use Apple’s iPad. It’s a handy tool when you are on the go!
How We Work
At New RockIT, we have a certain methodology to conducting business. To ensure everyone is happy, here are some of the standards we follow when working on a project.
- Contact us about your ideas & your project. Write us a paragraph or two about your business and your brand.
- Research….research….RESEARCH! This part of the project is critical. The more we know about your business and brand, the better the outcome. We use this to begin mockups and demos of what your site could be!
- Sketching & Design. We work up a “rough” overview of what your site/app will look like and present it to you.
- Once we have an agreement, we present you with a contract outlining the terms & conditions of the project.
- After we have the “legal” stuff out of the way, we begin coding. Depending on the scope of the project, it could be one to SEVERAL months. No worries though. We keep you informed every step of the way, including previews of the work we have done!
- Testing…We create several documented test cases to make sure that when we launch your site/app, it is good to go. We spend hours testing different scenarios to ensure ease of use & functionality on launch date!
- LAUNCH! This is the best part! After all of our work is done, we set up hosting and publish the site for everyone to use! After launch, we spend our time analyzing traffic and user statistics to present you with data on how we can optimize elements tailored for your users!
